Wayne Dyer

Last night I read ‘Staying On The Path’ by Dr. Wayne Dyer. It is a collection of some of his popular observations and quotes. One that I had not come across before (despite being a huge Wayne Dyer fan) was “How old would you be, if you didn’t know how old you are?”

My first thought, if I was not looking in a mirror or considering how old my children are, was forties – maybe fifties. In reality, I am sixty-five but I was thinking more in line with what I have learned and done in life and what I have left to learn and do.

Then I just closed my eyes and just went by how I felt – no thought for my history or my potential future. When I thought along those lines, I felt timeless – age seemed totally irrelevant.

It is a really good question. “How old would you be, if you didn’t know how old you are?”

  1. You had me with the title – Wayne Dyer! Ahhh..he was the only one who could speak to me and make it “all” click when it comes to spirituality. He held my hand and took me down the path while religions made me run to the hills. As far as age goes I’ll let Wayne comment, “We are an infinite spiritual being having a temporary, human experience.”❤️

  2. Age is not something I think of often, at least I never used to, but I do find it is a more common thought than it once was (maybe because I was younger it wasn’t an issue). I don’t think of it much though, even though more often than before. That is until my back hurts of the arthritis in my joints reminds me. LOL

I enjoy Wayne Dyer’s books and observations. I have a couple of his books and like him very much.

  3. Good question. Depends on the day. When my back and knees are not hurting, I feel young and wonder who the old woman is staring back at me in the mirror. On days when I ache, I feel exactly like the 72 years old I am.

  4. I hope your move will be behind you soon. I am sure you will feel better once you are settled with family live and support around you and your husband. I hope he is doing ok and not struggling too much with the upset of preparing for the move.
