It is thirteen weeks since I began my fitness routine! I continue to see improvement and to stay motivated. This week I am impressed with the increased strength and flexibility in my joints that I am noticing. I particularly appreciate the notable difference in my knees and hips. You know those old ladies who crouch down to get something off of a shelf in a store and can’t get up without the assistance of their strong armed husband? Yea, that was me a few weeks ago. Even getting off of my chair at home was problematic. Not any more! π
My fitness level is not the only positive result that I am celebrating this week.

It may not seem that impressive to anyone who has a manicured lawn but this is after the first good rain of the season and for the past number of years, we have been pretty much allowed our lawn to devolve into dried weeds and bare patches. Last year we decided that since I was home to give it some TLC, we would work at bringing it back to a semblance of lawn. We spread a couple of containers of hardy grass seed, applied lawn fertilizer a couple of times, I pulled weeds, and I waterer AND watered AND watered! It is a work in progress but I am loving the results so far.
Also, the training of Molly continues and we continue to appreciate the results. No inhouse accidents for two days! And… she will give a paw, touch her nose to a fist (without trying to eat it), and she knows her bed. She is such a quick learner and so anxious to please. π₯°

Here’s a link to another You Tube Zumba class I have been using. I still zig when I am supposed to zag and my leg lifts are a bit awkward. In my defense, it is rather more challenging with a growing pup walking around me and between my legs – especially when she is dragging her toys or blanket. π
Last but not least…. One more result that I was super excited about yesterday.

That is it for today. Take care and have a great day! π
Your lawn looks great! Congratulations on the fitness success!!

Such a lot to be thankful for! I don’t know if I am more impressed by the exercise or the lawn. Perhaps the lawn. . . Ha, ha. Keep up the good work! We are all behind you in so many ways.

Thank you! I’m most impressed by Molly’s elephant. She was dragging it through the rain and mud and all of the yuck that is under our cedars – not to mention shewing on its trunk for the past few weeks. It was so gross. π§

I am pulling for you. I added exercise bands and stretching to my day a couple of years ago when I realized I was losing strength quickly. A couple of months ago I began to go down the four front steps without holding on, something I hadn’t done since my knees were replaced 10 and 11 years ago. I found if I concentrated, I could also go up hands free. That felt like a victory. Back in December I told neighbors that I was working on standing from a sitting position without pushing up with my hands. I can do that now from ordinary chairs, but not a butt-sucking couch. I’m applauding every advance you make.

It sounds like you are doing great! We have one of those butt sucking couches as well. π I am fortunate that I have not had to go through any replacements yet. My mother and brother in law both had hip replacements done. They both far surpassed expectations for their recoveries. I am sure a lot had to do with the work they invested after surgery. It does seem to make all the difference! π

Surgeries and replacements have gotten better over the years. I hope you won’t need them, but you’ll do well if you do. Your attitude is excellent.

I don’t think I will. My muscle tone has always been so poor that my joints have always been loose. Or vice versa? Plus I have spent most of my adult life sitting at a desk. Was saving my body for my retirement. π

I laughed that you were saving your body for retirement. That is a wonderful line.
