Mission Complete

Another beautiful sunny day today. This morning it was quite cool, which worked well for my walk with Molly. We made about 4.5 km (almost 3 miles) and she was well behaved for the distance so that was pleasant – and a bit unexpected as she was acting up before we headed out. Anyway, we had a good walk, came home and I did my dance workout, had a cold shower, got dressed up and went out for lunch with Dan, AND stopped to do some shopping on the way home.

I was going to share more of Genie’s photos from the other day but we chatted again last evening and she sent me some new ones, so will jump to these and then jump back later when she starts to slow down.

Genie had a few hours off yesterday morning so she did what any typical eighteen year old would do if they found themself in Toronto with time on their hands. That’s right – she jumped on the nearest public transport and headed off to Bloor Street West on a mission to find a bookstore and a bowl of home made soup. Okay, maybe she is not quite typical. πŸ˜‚

Bloor Street West did not disappoint. She found the BMV bookstore and the anatomy book she was looking for, which she needs for her arts/drawing studies. Then she found a new restaurant, which may or may not be called Wild, and scored a bowl of potato leek soup and a London Fog. They were both sooooo good!

And she took photos….

I am not sure where the artwork fit into her day but I am thinking there was artwork hanging on the back wall of the restaurant.

Genie thoroughly enjoyed her outing. If anyone is heading to Toronto, I have to agree that Bloor Street seems very pretty. If you are looking for books or cats, artwork or homemade soup, this could definitely be an area worth checking out.

That is it for today. Take care and have a great day! πŸ’žπŸ€—

  1. Lovely photos, yummy soup! I’m glad that Molly behaved herself today. And, thanks for converting KM to Miles! I have no idea how that system works. πŸ€ͺ

  2. Loved the photos, and the story of hopping on a bus to go explore! I had never heard of a London Fog, and after looking it up, that will be my morning tea today! I am also enjoying blueberries from Canada on my yogurt, so I feel well connected with my northern neighbors this morning. Great job on the Molly work and your work out.

  3. Thank you, Sue! Genie and her fiance frequent a lot of coffee and tea shops in Regina so they are into those types of drinks. Glad you enjoy our Canadian berries. We get most of our fruit and vegetables from States like California. I have never really understood why borders have to be such a big deal especially between countries like Canada and the USA. Our exports and imports seem to compliment each other for the most part – as do our interests and values. πŸ™‚

  4. Mississippi is a blueberry growing state, and yet I can rarely find them locally. Now that is something I do not understand! One berry farm is in the next county, and I have only seen them on the shelf a time or two. Maybe they get a better deal shipping them elsewhere. I am enjoying the London Fog right this minute, and give my thanks to Genie for introducing me. I love both coffee and tea and especially in a latte.

  5. Oh! My eighteen year old granddaughter took them. She is in Toronto working at the CNE. She has been sending me photos this summer as she works her way across Canada. (to earn tuition for art school).

  6. Thank you, Alice. I can’t believe our little Saskatchewan born and bred Genie would just go tripping off around Toronto on her own. I would never have found the bus much less the bookstore and cute little restaurant.
