Daily Food Diary – Day 289 of 365

Today is Day 289 of my Daily Food Diary! ๐Ÿ’

This morning I went for a walk with Dan & Molly.ย  Since Dan was taking the leash, I didn’t bother switching Molly to her pinch collar.ย  As usual when Dan takes the leash, she was perfectly well behaved. ย  No trying to leap into random vehicles, no trying to chase FedEx trucks, not even a yip when she passed barking dogs.ย ย  ๐Ÿ™„

Yesterday, Dan turned up our forced air furnace.ย  Since it sits idle, collecting months of dust and dog hair, turning up the furnace is a bit of an ordeal.ย  He covers the vents and then vacuums each vent for a full cycle before moving on to the next.ย  We did have ‘experts’ come in a couple of times, but honestly this works just as well in our little house and is less of a hassle (at least Molly wise).

This morning, I cleaned the filters for our air purifiers and we are ready to go.

Yesterday morning, I did my aerobics.ย  Last night, I did a full thirty minutes on our treadmill.ย  I had zero incline, but did up the speed to level five for three (three minute) rounds.ย ย  Today I am doing aerobics and thirty minutes of light weights and cardio.ย  I am pumped about upping the weights to eight pounders.   I know I am more than ready. ๐Ÿ’ช

Still no word on when I will be called in for my hernia surgery, but I am hoping it won’t be until after Christmas.ย  The surgeon wants me under general anesthesia to do it, so I want to be in the best possible shape.ย 

Now that the Prednisone is obviously out of my system,  and I am moving forward once again, the last thing I want is another drug induced setback.  ๐Ÿ˜‹

Daily Food Diary – Day 265 of 365

Today is Day 265 of my Daily Food Diary! 100 days to go and I will have completed a solid year withoutย one miss! ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽˆ

We are having the roof of our garage reshingled today so I took Molly for her walk solo again. That went well so it was a boost for my confidence asย  well as hers.

I have yet to do my aerobics but that as well as time on the treadmill will happen today.

And.. This afternoon, daughter Jen is coming over to do some baking with me.ย 

All things considered, I don’t have much time to blog this morning so I will just leave you with a bit of ‘Food for Thought’.

Daily Food Diary – Day 251 of 365

Today is Day 251 of my Daily Food Diary!ย  Only 114 Daysย  until my 365 Day challenge is COMPLETE without one miss! ๐Ÿคฉ

Healthwise, yesterday was rough! I got through my Prednisone episode yesterday morning, but my sinuses and upper chest were so congested all day it was difficult to accomplish anything.ย 

But!!! I did go over to spend a couple of hours with daughter Jen.ย  Together, but mostly her, we got her transmission and transfer case off of her Jeep and she got it and her new transfer case over to their mechanic.ย 

He got on it right away, rebuilt the new transfer case with brackets from the old.ย  The next time Jen’s fiance has time off of work to come home, he and the mechanic are ready to install this, the motor from Big Red (Tanner’s Jeep), and reattach the exhaust system.ย 

‘Flea’ will roll again – sooner than later!

Today I am feeling MUCH better.ย  My blood oxygen and pulse were way better this morning, I went for a walk with Dan and Molly, and came back to get some yardwork done.ย ย 

I am on my last day of this round of antibiotics.ย  I have three more days of Prednisone to go.ย  I have a follow up appointment with my Respirologist tomorrow morning.ย  AND… I got the results of my X-rays yesterday afternoon.ย  Other than a bit of opacity (?) indicating an infection (no surprise there) everything looks good, stable, and clear of any fluid.

I am excited that everything is coming together.ย  By next week, I should be back to my regular workout routine. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜

This afternoon, I am going back to spend a bit more time with Jen and coming home to just Putz around the house – take it relatively easy.

It is Day 164 of my Daily Food Diary today.  ๐Ÿ‘

We are on Day 5 of our time with son Dan and family.  We have been too busy visiting today to wrap my head around my regular routine, but better late than never on posting my Daily Diary.

I haven’t done as well with my morning aerobics. This is the second day in a row that is a miss.  

Since I’m already this late, I am just going to wrap this up and take Molly for a walk  and get a bit of exercise. 

Looks like she is ready to go!

Daily Food Diary – Day 155 of 365

It is Day 155 of my Daily Food Diary! ๐ŸŒž

The sun is shining and we are looking forward to having a good day – much of it spent outdoors in our yard and garden and of course taking Molly for a walk  around the neighborhood.

Yesterday, I spent a couple of hours in the garden, working up one planter,ย  planting more tomatoes, and watering my thriving little plants.ย  I can’t believe how quickly these plants are getting established andย  growing to fit their environment.

They grow up so fast!

I also can’t believe how much stronger I am than I was three years ago.ย  Before I startedย  living my ‘healthier and fitter lifestyle’,ย  everything was such a struggle.ย  Yesterday, I was lifting five gallon pails of dirt, full (full size) watering cans, and using a garden fork to dig deep into packedย  earth.ย  I was amazed at what I could do – and how easily it could be done!

This watering can used to be heavy even when it was empty.  ๐Ÿ™„

I will always have compromised lungs.  The damage from asthma, bronchiectasis, and COPD doesn’t go away.  But,  with being active, eating well, stress management, adequate rest, fresh air, and proper healthcare, I can have a quality of life I couldn’t imagine possible three years ago.
