Daily Food Diary – Day 249 of 365

Today is Day 249 of my Daily Food Diary! πŸ₯³

Today is also Sunday September 7th.  I am on my 5th day of my latest round of antibiotics and oral steroids.  I am feeling pretty decent – helped no doubt by the solid sleep that I have been getting for the past couple of nights.

All things considered, my only major issue today is that I destroyed my glasses this morning.Β  I am pretty much blind without them so that’s not good.Β Β  I do have one older pair that I can wear until I get replacements but they are single vision glasses AND the only time that they did not make me look goofy was when I tried them on in the optometrist’s office. 🀦 Fortunately, as long as I avoid mirrors I don’t have to see myself. 😊

Maybe I have them upside down? They are Versace frames, so great quality,  but they just don’t suit me. πŸ™„
Molly is having a GREAT weekend.  Yesterday, Jen and Maddy were here for an hour AND this morning Genie came by to join Molly & Grandpa for their morning walk.   (Genie took the photo)

Daily Food Diary – Day 191 of 365

It is 191 Days since I started maintaining and posting my Daily Food Diary! πŸ’“

When I started this diary on January 1st,  my only goal was to identify trouble areas in my diet and make positive adjustments along the way.    Six months in, my diet is still a work in progress.   But, I am finding incredible value in this experience.   πŸ™Œ

Six years ago, I began blogging here on WordPress/JetPack.  I was gearing up for retirement and thought putting my thoughts in writing would help me find my way from full time employment to making the most of my new reality.   This has also  been an experience  that has paid off in ways I could never have imagined.

Writing has been a part of my lifeΒ as long as I can remember – the better part of seventy years.Β Β Β  There is something about putting it in writing that brings things into perspective and makes them real.Β Β Writing is my solid, creative expression of what I think, what I believe, what I feel.

Speaking of creative expression, Dan finished our pond yesterday and even found some blue food dye for the water this year. πŸ‘ πŸ’ž

Our little pond needed a complete remake this year, but it is up and running. πŸ€—

Daily Food Diary – Day 97 of 365

I am 97 days into my Daily Food Diary.Β  That leaves 268 days to go.Β

When I adopted a Healthy and Active Lifestyle three years ago, my driving mantra was “My future self will thank me!” Β  That thought kept me pushing through the difficult, frustrating, day to day pain and struggle.

Three years later, my life is so much better because I am so much healthier, stronger, and happier.Β  AND… I am THANKFUL for everything that my past self did to get me there.

97 days into my Daily Food Diary, I am beginning to realize health benefits from being more mindful of what I am consuming and the changes that I have made to my eating habits.Β  I am thankful for what I started and I am excited to see how much better my future self will be faring in 268 days.Β  πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

I have to wonder if this future self work is typical for most people.Β Β  To be honest, doing anything for myself was pretty much a foreign concept to me until three years ago.  😒

Are you doing anything to make life easier/better for your future self?  If so, what do you do?
