January 6th – Day 5 of My 2026 Daily Activity Journal

Yesterday was the first Monday of the new year and I am back at it! 

To get a sense of where I am going into 2026, I took a short (4 minute) video of my aerobic workout yesterday. 

In my head, I was looking and feeling as good as the instructor  and her class on You Tube.

In reality, my effort and elegance left something  to be desired!   The video dies with me, but I did put together a few screenshots to show I am trying! 

I may  have to smooth out my moves (and my  bingo wings) before I am ready for an in-person aerobics class. 🙄

In the afternoon, I stepped outside for a bit of fresh air, did some cleaning (including vacuuming) and I did thirty minutes on the treadmill.  I did not break any speed records, but again – it felt good.

Today, I am going to do my aerobics (with extra attention to form) plus a light weight workout. 

If all goes well, I plan to take a run over to Northgate Mall to take a couple of laps around the place and possibly check out a couple of shops.

Daily Food Diary – Day 264 of 365

Today is Day 264 of my Daily Food Diary! 😊

Today is also  son Mark’s birthday.  He lives across the city from us with his fiance and two young sons.  I have not seen him in almost four years, but he is still and always will be my son – and of course I wish him well on his birthday (as well as every other day of the year 🎂💝).

This morning, I took Molly for a walk by myself, as Dan is taking advantage of our gorgeous weather to go golfing.

I came home to have a bowl of cereal and found that the only container of milk in our fridge had not been wrestled open. 🤬

On my first try, with my bare hands, I got that sucker open!

Every day since I started taking collagen, my strength is increasing, and I find myself easily doing things that I have not been able to do for decades (or ever).  It is incredible!

Of course the most incredible thing is how much better my respiratory system is doing.  I will always have asthma and multiple environmental allergies.  But in general, my sinuses, throat, and lungs are feeling strong  and clear.  Much better than they have been for five years.  🤗

Daily Food Diary – Day 208 of 365

This is Day 208 of my Daily Food Diary! 🌹

Yesterday, I posted that I was going to start running today.  I always try to keep my word,  and this time (as usual) I did so!  I went for a run in the park.  I did not  run far and I did not run fast… But I did RUN.

It is rather smokey today, but it did not bother me as much as the patch that drifted through last week.  I am sure the species of trees that are burning makes a difference.  Some species, like Birch, are always more of an issue for me.

Despite the smoke, I finished my little run, none the worse for wear – except my left hand ring finger is sore and swollen.

Bizarre!  Dan figures I must have caught it on Molly’s chain when I was leading her.  🤔

Sore finger or not, today is Monday so it is back to doing my morning aerobics and it is a day for weights and cardio.
