I’m kicking off the week with some positive vibes here! I have three chronic lung conditions – asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis – all of which have kicked into high gear since I developed a lung infection a couple of weeks ago. Forest fire smoke will do that for me, as will excessive heat, and super high humidity. We have been dealing with the trifecta and my lungs are not dealing all that well.
So, it is fight or die AND we all know which direction I am going. š
That’s about it for my Health and Fitness Update this week, other than continuing to research yeast intolerances and finding substitutions for some of my favourite foods on the ‘yeasty’ list, like soya sauce, vinegar, anything containing soya sauce or vinegar, sauerkraut, wine, black pepper, breads, breadcrumbs, and the like. The good news is… digestion wise, I am feeling better than I have for YEARS.
The rest of my life is under control. Our garden is in. It isn’t photo ready yet as we have some cleanup to do. It is slow going as I am not a lot of help these days and Dan had to make it Molly proof as we go.
Our front lawn is coming along. Between our monsoon season and Dan’s diligence, it actually has a chance this year to beat out the weeds and bald spots.

I hope to have the garden area and large patio photo ready within the week. Dan lost his Bleeding Heart over the winter but I replaced it with a super pretty plant that I am anxious to share.
I also got my June fridge inspiration sign up a couple of days ago. So far the inspiration is more mental than physical but that’s okay. It all starts with our mindset – and my mind is set to come back STRONGER!

That is it for today. Take care and have a great day! šš
Rock on!

Bad luck to have to put up with the smoke but your garden must bring some consolation. It is looking promising.

Our garden is definitely a consolation – as well as the birds, squirrels, sunshine, and general lack of ice and snow. š

Thank you! For me too, Derrick. But that is why I do what I do. I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. And it does help being generally fitter. I will always have flare ups.

Thank you, Jackie. Those stones were my own secret personal project. I went and bought them, brought them home, buried them. Jen came over, dug them up, buried them deeper. Dan came home, dug them up. Buried them flatter. It was a process. ššš

You have more energy than I do, Anne. You do so well with your exercises. Your grass and garden looks good. Our weather man said last night that today and tomorrow it will be hazy from the smoke coming from Canada. I don’t do well with smoke so I will be inside all I can be until the air clears. Amazing that here in Arkansas USA we are getting smoke from Canada. Have a great day my friend and keep up the good work with your exercises and keeping healthy. ā¤

Thank you, Mags! We do seem to have issues controlling our smoke this year. I don’t know why it is spreading so far.

Too funny that your photo shows Molly with a cushion. Zoe has just decided that couch cushions are just the perfect teething accessory! Our bleeding heart, left alone in a corner of the yard, has grown amazingly. I guess it just needed neglect! Hope your lungs settle down and am glad to know that cutting yeast is helping.

Thank you, Elizabeth. Sadly, Dan’s sofa pillow met a violent and untimely death this week. I think Molly is past the teething stage. š§. And it sure is! I should have realized it was the yeast ages ago.

I hope you had a memorial service for the pillow. LOL When I was in my 30’s yeast was discussed quite a lot and I knew people who were greatly helped by cutting it out. I am glad that you realized the problem. Had you heard from someone else or just figured it out?

My daughter tested positive for a yeast allergy years ago, so I was aware but didn’t realize it was genetic. Her daughter (Genie) has been having a lot of issues that could also be due to yeast in her diet so she is going for testing. I am just happy to feel so much better by avoiding it. š
