Daily Food Diary – Day 26 of 365

I have been noting and posting my daily food and liquid intake for twenty six days.  I have found some room for improvement, made some adjustments, and have begun to realize some benefits. πŸ€—

Obviously, my health and fitness journey is about more than what I eat and drink.  I do aerobics six days a week, typically do strength training Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and I rest on Sunday.

Yesterday, my rest day included time spent grooming our dog, Molly and time outside enjoying a rousing game of fetch.  It is a bit challenging when you have a hundred pound  Pyrenees who is less than co-operative. 🀦

* My husband Dan helps position and brush MollyHe also gives the porch a good vacuuming when we are done. πŸ’ž
I don’t fetch.

  1. Hah. ‘I don’t fetch’, is totally relatable. The Pyrenees have an agenda of their own. When I tried to teach Denver to fetch, he thought I was throwing things at him and to this day he flinches if I raise my hand like I’m going to throw something. πŸ˜‚ You’re doing great! πŸ’–

  2. Thank you, Barb. Trying to teach Molly anything is a challenge. And some things like “Back” and laying down while we eat, and doing her business outside (generally in one small area of the year). Stop, stay, and sit are still a battle. 🀦 Molly flinches if I toss popcorn to her. It must be a Pyrenees thing.

  3. It’s almost like they know what we want, but will only do it if it’s their idea. I can stick my head out the backdoor to call Denver inside and he just looks at me, but as soon as I shut the door and walk away, he’ll want in. πŸ˜‚

It must be a Pyrenees thing Anne and it’s like having an 80lb. baby. The meter reader was afraid to come in the backyard once after seeing Denver there, but I just laughed and welcomed him in. I told him he didn’t have to worry about the big dog, but it’s the little 45 pounder inside that he needs to be scared of. 😊

  4. What an absolutely gorgeous dog! I’m a firm believer that time spent with a dog can be every bit as beneficial to our health as anything else. My last dog died three years ago, and I can no longer have a dog. My physical and mental health both suffer from the absence of a dog’s unconditional love and companionship. Give Molly an extra hug from me today.

  5. If Denver is a male. Molly doesn’t have a lot of female friends – a couple but Molly met them when they were puppies (or she was). But almost all of the dogs at the park are males. It’s weird

  6. I am so sorry that you no longer have a dog and miss the companionship. I will give Molly a hug for you. She can never get enough affection. πŸ€— I hope you have a nice rest of your day. πŸ’žπŸŒž

  7. Molly is beautiful! Our daughter has a Great Pyrenees/ Great Dane Cross … a gentle giant. Has the avian flu down here affected egg prices at home, Annemarie? Right now, it’s tough to even find eggs and if you do, they’re priced like gold in a shell.

  8. There has been some eggs recalled for salmonella in other provinces but we have been ok. Dan does our shopping but he said eggs range from $4 to $4.75 (small to extra large). I have no idea what exchange is right now so I don’t know what that would be in USD. Thank you! Molly is a bit of a show stopper and she came from a working sheep ranch so she is independent and determined to have things her way. 🀦. But she is a big baby and adores all of the grandkids.
