On January 1st, I started tracking everything I consume each day and posting it in my Daily Food Diary. I have never been great at keeping New Years resolutions, but I approached this more as a commitment and 88 days later, I am still on track! 😊
Yesterday, our main meal of the day was a family affair. Dan and I spent most of the day tidying up the house and getting supper together.

I struggle taking family photos. To be honest, I think it is the family that I have to work with. The photo of Genie on her own went well enough. (Her fiance Alec was at work) The other three were a challenge. How hard is it for TWO people to face the same direction at the same time? By the time I got to Dan and Ronan, they were all over the place. I am pretty sure they were trying to be difficult. I got one shot of Dan looking at the ceiling while Ronan was looking at the floor. 🙄
All in all, everything went as well as can be expected when you get a lot of family into a small house. Supper went particularly well. They all said our first attempt at pulled pork was a win. The girls chose the menu, with a bit of tweaking. Jen requested the brussel sprouts and Dan and I added buns and yeast free paratha bread for anyone wanting to build a pulled pork sandwich. It all worked.

I love that Barb! (TBH I ditched the first flower photo I went to post this morning. There was one blossom that was looking rather droopy. 🙄)

I am the one always taking photos in my family. For people who love to see the pictures, they sure do not cooperate when I am trying to snap them!

It’s nice to see your family, Anne! I’ve never liked unions though. 😂

Me either! Although I have learned to ignore family drama when it comes to my kids and grands. 🤗

That’s a good skill, Anne! My dislike for unions comes from working with my dad years ago at the GM dealerships we had.
I think it was in the 1980s that the employees were talking about unionising the employees at the store. My dad said go ahead, when you come to work on Monday, the doors will all be locked.
No employee joined any union that I am aware of…

Sorry, I thought you meant reunions. For unions, I think it depends. A small family business, no. For an international steel company, I think it makes it easier and more equitable for both the company and the workers.

Okay. Well, having grown up in the Motor City, aka Detroit, Michigan, I saw a lot of abuse by the unions. They always demand more money more money more money.
Part of my job was driving another employee to the various factories in Detroit, Lansing and Flint to pick up what were called Millage Cars. Cars that were used by the GM big shots for a while, the customer got a very good deal on a new car. Being inside those factories was angering.
I saw people sleeping, basketball courts and just laziness. See what I’m getting at? Sorry.

I don’t think that would ever happen in a steel mill. Way too dangerous and loud.
