It is 167 Days since I started posting my Daily Food Diary.
Yesterday was NOT my best effort when it came to maintaining a healthy diet. My last few days haven’t been a great effort. But, like everything else in life, I got to decide and I decided to ‘take a break’ rather than make health and wellness my top priority.
I can’t say it was a great decision. Travelling for a number of hours is hard on my lungs. I do not move enough to keep my lungs clear. Traveling through forest fire smoke, to an area enveloped in forest fire smoke for a few days, was not good. Being negligent about clearing my lungs, doing my aerobics, and managing my diet was on me. But… I stayed accountable and I take responsibility for the consequences of the decisions I made.
I cannot change the decisions I made, but I can and will get back on track. And… I will be prepared to make better choices the next time we go away. There are some things I cannot control (like forest fire smoke). I can eat better, do my aerobics and lung clearing, and plan stops for moving around during our trips – even if that means having to do occasional walkthroughs at malls or big box stores, to avoid smoke or inclement weather.
Despite everything, we had a good week, quality time with family, and we are back home happy for the memories we made.

Everything at Dan and Amanda’s is designed to keep their family active and to entertain visitors. The kids have their zipline and trampoline, a geodesic climbing structure, and a wooden playhouse with a slide leading down to their sandbox. Their above ground pool needs to be replaced this year. Dan and Amanda are in the process of designing an addition to their deck to build in the new pool.
As much as it is all pretty impressive, nothing is designed to impress.Β Everything indoors and out is built to be functional (and fun). Β

Just standing up on a trampoline is definitely a win as I found out years ago when I went on one with my gymnast nieces. Everyone was laughing at my plight and I heard my wife give me the backhanded compliment: One thing I love about Geoff is that he is not afraid to make a fool of himself!”

Your wife is the best, Geoff! π And good for you, getting on a trampoline with gymnasts. Our three grands were intimidating enough. π³

Wow! Good for you, Anne. You have outdone me for sure. I have never been on a trampoline nor have I zip line. I don’t see that ever happening either. I know you will get back on track soon and your lungs will be doing better. I wish that smoke would go away. Looks like Molly and the kiddos had a great time together. Happy all your plants are alive and some blooming. Those purple blooms are gorgeous.

Thank you, Mags. It is clear here today so hopefully this will keep up until I get sorted out. The trampoline was definitely harder than the zipline, but I would probably do either again. π

I’m glad that you did the trampoline and zip line, Anne! I’ve never tried a zip line. Their home is very beautiful! I’m sure that you will get back to your healthier routine. Be well! β€οΈπ

Thank you, John. They have worked hard for it and they do everything on it. Dan built the entire deck (with engineered plans that he had made).

Iβve always wanted to zip line. They have one not too far from me but itβs quite high up. Lexey has done it and said itβs above the trees. Not sure about that one. π

We have a good one a couple of hours from here but you have to hike in quite a ways to get to it, then climb a high tower. Not sure if I am there YET. π
