Daily Food Diary – Day 194 of 365

It is 194 Days since I started my Daily Food Diary! 😁🎈

I have a few random topics to touch on today:

  1. On Saturday, I had a major craving for a root beer.. I took a hard pass and had carbonated water.Β  Yesterday, I was looking to have an afternoon snack.Β  Being Sunday, I was thinking of something high in calories and low in nutrition… I had a pear and a handful of raspberries.Β  My Daily Food Diary continues to  work for me.Β  πŸ€—
  2. Ten days ago, I started taking collagen supplements.Β  I don’t know what I was looking for but I wasn’t expecting to see any notable change for six weeks to five months.Β Β  Oddly enough, for three mornings now I have woken up without stiff, achy hands – for the first time since I can ever remember.Β  πŸ€”
  3. After one nice warm day of sunshine, we are back to cool, wet weather.  We took  Molly for her walk before the rain started.  We went to Northgate Mall.  Dan got a haircut while I wandered the halls counting empty storefronts.   We both got wet getting back to the Jeep.  🌨️
  4. Today it is 3 Years and 5 Months since I started my Health & Fitness lifestyle.Β  Last night, I remembered how I used to get a brutal stabbing pain in my right side  every time I twisted sideways.Β Β  I know it was from Slipping Rib Syndrome (floating ribs that slip out of place).   But that doesn’t happen anymore.  It hasn’t for at least a couple of years.Β    The random benefits of living a healthy, active lifestyle never cease to amaze me. 😁

  1. OMG, Anne! Yet another thing we have in common … I also have slipping rib syndrome. It was brutal when it first started happening. Mine started when I first started power walking .. I decided once I was feeling better to incorporate a pre-walk workout. The first time I did twisting body toe touches was the first time my lower right ribs clicked and it was downhill from there. Now there are some days it’s barely noticeable and other days when it’s definitely there … it all depends on my activity.

  2. Everyone has floating ribs – they are the bottom two sets of ribs. They don’t connect to the sternum or the other ribs in the front of the chest – only to the spine and only by cartilage. If you have collagen issues, you have cartilage issues so things slip out of place. Not a big deal but it is momentarily painful as hell when it happens. The sun can come back any time. ☺️

  3. That’s pretty coincidental, or not if you have French ancestry. Apparently the French from Quebec have some unique health issues. Mine was worst back when I went shopping every Saturday with Jen and her kids. I would turn in my seat to hand the kids something and it felt like a rib had slipped and gone straight thru my liver. (Possibly my heart) . It went on forever – now I twist and turn all the time and I am fine. πŸ™‚ Have a great day Terry. Enjoy the rain! 🀦

  4. Good for you for resisting the root beer craving. Pop can be a craving for me when I go out, thankfully I don’t buy them for home, and it can be hard to resist!
