This is Day 208 of my Daily Food Diary! 🌹
Yesterday, I posted that I was going to start running today. I always try to keep my word, and this time (as usual) I did so! I went for a run in the park. I did not run far and I did not run fast… But I did RUN.
It is rather smokey today, but it did not bother me as much as the patch that drifted through last week. I am sure the species of trees that are burning makes a difference. Some species, like Birch, are always more of an issue for me.
Despite the smoke, I finished my little run, none the worse for wear – except my left hand ring finger is sore and swollen.

Sore finger or not, today is Monday so it is back to doing my morning aerobics and it is a day for weights and cardio.

Ouch, that looks a bit painful, Anne! Good on you for running today. My grandpa M taught me long ago that the bark of the birch tree is great for starting a camp fire because of what is in it. It does burn easily…

I’ll remember that. I am terrible at starting wood fires. We would starve if I had to start a campfire to cook on.

Congrats on running, Anne! That’s one activity I’ll never be able to accomplish since a lumbar spine fracture many years ago.

Most of the time it’s pretty good, Anne. I just need to follow Dr’s orders : Never again golf, curl, jog, or vacuum. The last one is my fave 😉

Golfing and curling wouldn’t make my top ten. We don’t have much to vacuum, but Dan will often do it and almost always in the winter. We have a good vacuum, with HEPA filters and he generally empties it and cleans the filters. 🫶

Hubs does all of our vacuuming and he’s a fanatic about every filter in the house being clean … works for me 😊
