Daily Food Diary – Day 221 of 365

Today is Day 221 of my Daily Food Diary.  ☺️

Today is another  high risk smoke day, so another indoor day.  I had hoped to spend some time walking Molly, puttering around our yard, and reading in our gazebo.  Apparently,  that is not going to happen.

It is amazing how suddenly we went from, hot, summer days to spending days on end trapped indoors to escape wildfire smoke.  I know we are far from alone in this and much better off than those living in fire zones.  Still, it is frustrating for those of us dealing with chronic lung disease and  environmental allergies.

I miss sunny summer days!

  1. Wow, I’m sorry that you are stuck indoors again, Anne, totally sucks. Your cooking looks very delicious, I’d love to try the soup! That Canada Goose is unique, never seen anything like it in a playground. I wonder if you could wear an N-95 mask like I used during the pandemic?

  2. Thanks, John! I’ll be fine. Molly doesn’t care for the smoke either. The Canada Goose is a play structure. It’s been a while since the kids were small enough to play in but I think they climb steps to a slide inside it and slide out the goose’s beak.

  3. Although I’ve been to Wascana Park many times, I’ve never seen the Canada Goose play structure. It’s very appropriate for Wascana, isn’t it? We’ve been lucky here the past couple of days as far as the smoke situation goes. There’s usually a weather change at the Corrine correction line, so that likely includes smoke too. I hope you can get outside again soon, Anne.

  4. There’s a huge wire sculpture of an elephant in front of the downtown library. I used to go there regularly and I never saw the elephant until Dan and I went looking specifically for it one day. 🤷 The smoke is supposed to clear up tonight shortly before the rain starts. 😂. Tuesday is supposed to be good. 👍

  5. That soup and those biscuits look delicious. That goose slide is a first for me cool idea. I am still hoping the fires go out and the smoke goes away soon. Happy Monday, Anne. Hugs
