Daily Food Diary – Day 233 of 365

Today is Day 233 of my Daily Food Diary! πŸŽ‰

Yesterday our family acquired a newly licensed driver. (Learners license, but still!)

They grow up too fast!

From day one, Maddy was determined to be “one of the big kids” like her older siblings Genie and Rory.Β Β  She has done a good job of becoming a mature and responsible young lady.

But, to be honest I never thought she would be determined enough to embrace driving.  She just doesn’t seem to be the ‘driver’ type.  (Unlike younger sister Prim who can’t wait to get behind the wheel!)

Not only does Maddy have her license, but last night she took her first drive in the country with her Mom.Β  She got behind the wheel andΒ  drove a few miles before swerving to avoid hitting a dog.Β  As she left the gravel road and hit the ditch, she remembered her driver trainer’s instructions and kept her wheels straight.Β

First challenge in the driver’s seat and she handled it like a pro.Β  The dog is fine, Maddy & Mom are fine, my Taurus is almost fine – and the heat shield for my Taurus is in the trunk. πŸ™„

Good job Maddy! πŸ’ž

  1. I loved the photo and your blog, Mags. You have several friends who enjoy hearing from you. I hope you do keep posting. I find it interesting reading little details of people’s lives from around the world on here. One day I’ll find something fascinating because it is so different from what is typical for us. Other times, I find it fascinating that despite long distances between us, we have total similarities in our lives. Have a good rest of your evening, Mags! πŸ’—

  2. A first time driver’s license is always an exciting milestone, as it opens up independence and new freedoms. It’s truly a coming of age event. I remember when I got my license (a very long time ago). After passing the road test, I felt like there was nothing I couldn’t do. Congratulations to Maddy and sending wishes for safety in her travels, no matter the distance!

  3. I wanted you to see Chancy with the flower pot is why I posted the photo. He and Molly would have made great partners wiping out flower pots. LOL

Anne I enjoy reading everything you post on your blog. You have been of help to me with my journey of no gluten. You have given me ideas of things I may be able to eat by seeing what you eat. I love seeing your beautiful plants. And Molly makes me smile and gives me laughs. I have followed your blog for a long time and have always enjoyed it.

I plan to keep blogging I just don’t know at this point what I will be blogging about. Some of my followers are giving me ideas.

    Have a great weekend, Anne

  4. Thank you, Terry. In Saskatchewan, a driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are a necessity for any level of independence. She should do well – she has her driver trainers at school who seem very thorough, plus Jennifer, sister Genie, and Grandpa all driving with her. They are all very strong drivers. πŸ‘

  6. Anne I don’t want you to ever feel like you have to read my posts. I am glad you do enjoy reading them when you choose to. I love your blog and will always visit and read your posts unless unexpected reasons prevent me from doing so.

  7. I never read anyone’s blogs because I feel I have to, Mags. It’s easier to keep current on the one’s that I get notices for. I have to figure that out – along with the twenty six other technical issues I have with Word Press. πŸ’žπŸŒž

  8. I am so sorry you have issues with WordPress. I am still trying to learn, it is nothing like it was when I had my other blogs. It was so much easier back then. Hugs
