It is 239 Days since I started posting my Daily Food Blog. 💗👍
I continue to enjoy this exercise, especially the benefits that I have received from it, and the comments that I receive from posting it.
What I do not enjoy is interacting via technology.
The most frustrating aspect of technology this year is the emergence of AI, which is hellbent on making life difficult for the technically challenged folks like Yours Truly.
But, I have a couple of glitches that have been directed specifically towards me. A few weeks ago the letter ‘A’ vanished from my online vocabulary. Tht ws frustrting!
My ‘A’ has returned, but with its return, my spacebar has retired any reliable operation. I’mgettingtoooldforthisnonsense!
Yesterday, while Dan and I were walking Molly, we started talking about all of the progress over the past few decades that have proven to be less than positive..
– Anything/everything disposable from plastic bags, to diapers, to appliances….
-24 hours a day television along with streaming services (any electronic device that keeps us from fresh air and regular human interactions and activities)
– Technology in general, but specifically software updates
– Electric vehicles (especially in the wide open spaces of Saskatchewan but pretty much anywhere)
– New math (what was wrong with the old math?)
– Fast and/or junk food (remember real food that wasn’t packed full of sugar, sodium, chemicals, and yeast?)
I am probably missing a few here. Feel free to add them in your comments. (Space breaks and random vowels optional). 🙂

That is it for today. Take care and have a great day! ☺️💗

Dan, you are such a good man! I agree, Anne, I despise AI, it has no place in many parts of our lives including photography. I see other photographers using AI in their work, that’s something I will never do. My photos are 100% real. We both have issues with food, it’s the sodium for me and more for you. So ridiculous! Plastic is a horrible problem, yours truly has become a serious recycle guy since I moved to Vegas a few years ago. It’s so sweet that your husband gets you flowers!

subscriptions (there’s one by tesla that’s $40/month so you have a button to open your garage door!), all of your internet activity being traceable (but there’s a subscription to prevent that!), Temu (which offers items to you for cheap so they can sell your personal information), scanners on debit machines that steal and use your information… the general lack of circulation of information about maintaining your health despite knowledge being at your fingertips?

I hate the fact that AI scribes are being used more and more all the time by Dr’s , radiologists, etc and it makes so many errors. Whenever I have an appointment I make it a priority to say that I don’t want AI to be used in documentation of my visits. Also, when you Google something, the first answer is always AI generated, so I never use that, and always scroll on to a more reputable site. As far as your tech device goes, I know if it’s an Apple product, you can turn Ai off. If Android, I’m not sure.

Thank you, John! AI has just destroyed our computer and phones. It also spreads disinformation on Google. I have to fact check AIs fact checks. 😂

All good ones. On another note – I accidentally subscribed to automatic monthly deliveries of Collagen capsules from Amazon. 😯

Thank you, Terry. I don’t think my doctor would use AI. Neither he nor his assistant can operate their fax machine. We use all Android. Have a great day! 💕😊

Wow that’s sad! I avoid Google like a plague, Anne, but I’m sure they still find ways to invade my life. Perhaps those old movies about AI taking over in the future could become true? Lord no! 🙏🏻

I agree with much of what you say, especially about AI and modern mass produced food, but I can’t agree about electric vehicles (except perhaps in the wide open spaces of Saskatchewan). I can’t help feeling that it is not a good idea to drive through crowded streets in towns and cities, poisoning the residents, many of whom don’t own cars, and particularly their children, with petrol and diesel fumes. Mind you, bicycles are even better, though almost certainly not in the wide open spaces of Saskatchewan. Also, electric cars are wonderful to drive.

People have to keep aware that AI is just that. Not real human intelligence.

Fair enough – wide open spaces are a thing here, but there are also issues with our minus 40 winters. I wonder how they do in extreme heat? I just think governments should have looked at the potential for all options (eg hydrogen) before investing all of our research funds in the first thing that looked good. I’m glad yours is working well for you! 😊

So far, at both my GP and specialist visits, I’ve been asked for permission to use AI for documentation and I’ve refused. One of my X-ray reports was another thing because with an X-ray, you see a technician, not the radiologist who reads it. When I read that report on mysaskhealth, it made zero sense (I’m fortunate to have a medical background) At my next visit to my GP, he asked if he could use ai to record the visit. I refused and asked him to look at my X-ray. He did, and said, “This doesn’t make any sense and there are words in here that don’t exist”. I pointed out to him that if ai is transcribing and doesn’t understand what’s said, it makes something up. He asked me how I knew this and I said, “ai itself says so. I Googled “how accurate is ai” and Googles ai said “About 50% of the time and what it doesn’t know or understand, it makes up” I told my GP that with that info, I believe AI in healthcare is dangerous. He agreed and said he uses it because it saves time and is easier than typing everything. He went on to say that almost every Dr is using it because of that.

Right, i hope AI doesn’t actually become self-aware.

That all sounds sketchy but really good to know. I always look up my scan results. It could be super upsetting if AI started making up stuff. 🥺 I get why doctors use it, but frustrating.

I do not like AI nor do I want to use it. So sorry about your orchid, but how sweet of Dan to purchase another one for you. It is beautiful. Have a great weekend, Anne.
