Daily Food Diary – Day 278 of 365

This is Day 278 of my Daily Food Diary! ๐Ÿ’—

Next Monday (October 13th) is our Canadian Thanksgiving.ย  Of all the major holidays that we celebrate, Thanksgiving is my favourite. There is none of the stress that comes with all the commercialization ofย  other holidays.ย  Thanksgiving is just that, a day to be grateful for what we have and an opportunity to share it with loved ones. ๐Ÿ’ž

Dan and I are hosting our Thanksgiving supper this Thursday.ย  It is the best day for those family members who work over the weekend.ย ย  And the leftovers they take home will make a handy meal for them, when they will be too busy to cook!

After joining Dan and Molly for a frigid walk this morning (as in our bird bath is now a miniature skating rink), I decided a pot of hearty beef stew was on the menu for tonight.ย ย ย

Beef gnocchi stew. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Just to note.. Jet Pack/WordPress is glitching out for me.ย  I find myself unable to like posts or comments.ย  Hopefully, you are getting my comments. And hopefully… The situation resolves itself soon.

  1. Yum! Beef stew is one of my all-time fave comfort foods! I donโ€™t make it often because I canโ€™t leave it alone until every last drop of gravy has been sopped up by bread or a biscuit. Yours looks delish! So far, no wordpress/jetpack glitching for me. I missed commenting for a couple of days because we were busy. I did read your posts though, and it looks like all continues to go well for you, Anne!

  2. The stew looks sooo delicious, Anne! I’m glad that you still have family to enjoy Thanksgiving with, so wonderful. So many of my family have passed now that we may not have Thanksgiving or Christmas at this point. Not sure yet. ๐Ÿ˜ข

  3. You are welcome Anne, Linda and I stay in touch often as do my daughter and I. It’s tough at times being so far away but life here has been wonderful for many years now. Especially being single again. ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

  4. happy Thanksgiving! That stew makes me want some. Iโ€™ll have to make some as soon as it gets cooler here. Weโ€™ve had a run of great weather but today itโ€™s raining which we need. Hopefully it will cool down a little bit. Enjoy your family!
