This morning I learned of one of my newest inspirations from my partners in my Volley fitness group. David Goggins is one of the world’s best endurance athletes. He is also a genius as a motivational speaker and as the author of countless thought provoking quotes.
These are a small sample of David Goggins quotes. These ones spoke to me personally in a big way so they are the ones that I chose to share.

“Nobody cares about yesterday. What have you done today to better yourself?” – David Goggins

“When you look in the mirror, that’s the one person you cannot lie to.” – David Goggins

“I don’t stop when I’m tired. I stop when I’m done.” – David Goggins

“Every day do something that makes you uncomfortable.” – David Goggins

“Success is based on your willingness to work your ass off no matter what obstacles are in your way.” – David Goggins

“I thought I’d solved a problem when really I was creating new ones by taking the path of least resistance.” – David Goggins

“Don’t limit expectations of yourself and settle for anything less than what you are truly capable of.” – David Goggins

“Most people who doubt you doubt you because they can never see themselves doing what you are trying to do.” – David Goggins
That is it for today. Take care and have a great day!💞🤗
Very interesting quotes! Most I agree with except for the one about “don’t stop until you are done”. I am tired just thinking about that one! Also, the one about doing something “uncomfortable every day”. I gave that one up when I retired! Ha, ha.

My favourite one was about creating problems by taking the path of least resistance. I was just thinking this morning about all of the people I worked with over the years who worked SO hard at avoiding work. It never ceased to amaze me. No idea why I was thinking about it. 🤦

That quote was pertinent! Sometimes you don’t even realize you do it until it is too late. It was certainly one of the best quotes.

Thought provoking quotes, I love them. And the pictures are awesome. Love the crooked pair by the water and that ginormous blue spruce with the sun peaking through. Great post Anne Marie…

Thank you, Neese. The ginormous blue spruce is in our yard. Dan’s mother planted it for him a few days before she passed away. It was very tiny. If it keeps growing it is going to be our retirement home. 💞🙄

I love how he talks about the accountability mirror and how he uses it every morning to check in with himself, making sure he achieves his goals. He would put post it notes on it of what he was going to achieve, pep talks to himself. If there wasn’t something he was proud of from the day before, he would put that on a post it note and fix it. I’m so starting that!

I thought that it might be your tree because you talked and showed pictures of it before. It’s beautiful…

That is always so tragic! But somehow, the kids who have it rough so often grow up to turn that tragedy into triumph. He has quotes about suffering and I got the impression that was where he got his inspiration from.

Those are some mighty fine looking trees, Anne. You had me hooked on the first one, but for some reason, I really like the one that looks like someone shot arrows into a pole–very creative!

Every tree is my favourite. That arrow shot one is part of the art in the new Regent Park just across and down the street from our house.

Here’s a few I highlighted from his book. The reason it’s important to push hardest when you want to quit the most is because it helps you callous your mind. …. It takes relentless self-discipline to schedule suffering into your day, every day, but if you do, you’ll find that at the other end of that suffering is a whole other life just waiting for you. …. you must win the morning.
