Today is Day 311 of my Daily Food Diary. π
Today we woke up to the first notable snowfall of the season.

With plus 9 degree C temperatures expected Monday, this snow won’t last, but the air was crisp and clean when we walked Molly earlier.Β
Fortunately, Dan took the leash while Molly bopped around, zigging and zagging to sniff out anything buried under the fresh snow.Β I followed behind, grateful to stay vertical on the snowy sidewalks and icy streets.
Tonight we are celebrating the arrival of winter with a pot of ground beef, vegetable, & barley soup.

Other than that, we don’t have any major plans today. I have a list of small chores to get done around the house, some aerobics and and a weight session to do, and possibly a batch of cheese biscuits and/or snickerdoodles to get in the oven. βΊοΈ

The soup looks great, Anne! Itβs been hot (low to mid 30βs C) since we arrived here in south Texas, but a βcool spellβ is coming for 2 consecutive days this coming week (highs of +21Β°C and +25Β°C), so my stove and oven will finally be getting a bit of a workout.

Thank you, John. Dan just came in with Molly. They both look like popsicles. π₯Ί I think it’s getting colder out.

If it hits 21 here, Dan’s breaking out the barbecue! I’m glad you are getting some heat tho. Has it been cool enough in the morning to get your walks in?

It sure has, Anne! I generally head out before sunrise (with a flashlight, lol) and itβs usually right around 18Β°C. Thatβs perfect shirtsleeve walking weather for me. π

I know the look, Anne, and sometimes the dogs have big icy snowballs stuck on their fur! π Such different weather there, it’s 80F here today.

That snowfall is coming to Toronto tomorrow. π« I hate winter. π€£ But itβs a good reason for soup and your ground beef, barley and vegetable soup looks delicious!

At least with winter, we can look forward to spring. π In autumn, we just get to dread winter. π
