Today is Day 326 of my Daily Food Diary. 🙉 It is Sunday and our weather is amazing. It is a few degrees above freezing, sunny, warm, and DRY!
We went for our morning walk a while ago. The streets were relatively quiet. We crossed paths with one dog that Molly would have liked to interact with, but they both just wanted to play so it was not a big deal.
On our walk, I coughed three times. That was not three coughing fits – just a couple of coughs each time to clear my throat. I am sure that is a three year record. 🤩
Last night Dan made Baked French Onion Soup for supper. He used lots of onions, unsalted Campbell’s beef broth, toasted sourdough bun, and shredded cheese (marble for mine/mozzarella, provolone, & parmesan for his). It was our second amazing supper in a row.
After supper we watched a movie (after the Toronto/Montreal hockey game). We seldom watch movies. I usually choose the movies we watch and my choices are questionable at best. ‘Catnado’ hit a new low for me – and that took some doing! Last night we watched one that Dan was interested in seeing. It was definitely a step up. 👍
The rest of our day today should be quiet. Dan is going to pick up granddaughter Maddy in a bit. He will probably let her drive home, as he usually does. She completed her Driver’s Training course with a very respectable 93% – now she just has to keep practicing until the end of March, when she will be old enough to go ace her Driver’s Test.

Yay for Maddy! I remember my first drive by myself which was about 47 years ago. Still have a perfect driver record too. Dinner sounds yummy! Catnado? I love cats and probably couldn’t see that one.

I’m happy the coughing was less bothersome, Anne – and I hope that continues to improve for you. It’s fun to watch (and help) our grandkids reach those “coming of age” milestones like their drivers licences.

French onion soup is one of my favorites. Except for the time I ordered it as a “special” at a Dennys and it was onion soup that came with a slice of Velveeta cheese floating on a piece of white bread.

I am really surprised that Maddy has tackled this with so much enthusiasm. I think the cats won. 🤔

Oh cool! I believe that cats are more intelligent than dogs, sorry. They certainly have more dignity! Maddy might be a future professional race car driver!

Thank you, Terry! I’ll help them conquer the kitchen, but Maddy has a fleet of eager drivers and vehicles at her disposal so I’m happy to back off.. I’m still recovering from teaching my sons. Dan taught Jennifer and she’s the best driver of the lot – and the most competent mechanic..

That would be a disappointment. 😔 I ordered it in a bar one time and it was just onions and broth. No croutons or toast, no cheese – it was sad.

I have a severe allergy to cats so I’ll have to take your word for it. Dan said she doesn’t hold back. 😂

Have been away for a bit. Are you still trying to lose weight?

Hi Elizabeth! I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering if you were still on WordPress/JetPack. I am still mindful of what I watch but I am not trying very hard to lose weight. My goal is 115 lbs but I have been sitting at +/- 120 lbs. I have been working out for almost 4 years now – between denser bones and more muscle, I think this may be my new normal.
