Dan and I spent much of the afternoon outside yesterday.
– We finished getting the gazebo ready for summer. Dan got all of the chair cushions out of storage and I secured them in place.
– I swept up a zillion or so of those little tree seed pods. I swear, if we locked up this place and left for the season, we would return to a forest. Every one that lands, on anything resembling dirt, takes root. 🌳
– I started potting a dozen little flower plants to fill the planter that Dan is building for the back yard.

While I am out and about as much as I can be, I am still focused on getting back to my Health and Fitness Journey.
One of my new healthy habits has been using my new Navage nasal irrigation unit, that Dan bought me a couple of weeks ago.
This unit is awesome! I have been dealing with sinus issues (and enviornmental allergies) for fourteen years! I have seen ENT’s, used a neti pot with saline solution, used prescription strength sinus sprays, and consumed boxes of antihistamines – nothing was particularly helpful.
But this is a game changer! The first week was rough. I don’t know if it was because my sinuses were such a mess or if it was just a learning curve, but it was rough. I seriously thought I might drown myself a couple of times. 🤦♀️
But, it was well worth the perseverance. My sinuses are much better and my allergies are all but gone – and all without side effects of any sort.

That’s it for today! Take care and have a great day!

Are the tree seeds those spinners? Helicopters we called them as kids? I’ve seen that nasal machine on TV, I call it a Booger Sucker. 🤭🤭 I’m glad it works for you! I’ve used the bottle form of that where you mix the saline “salt” with purified water and shake it. It works okay…

These are just round and flat. I tried that bottle too. I think my issues were deeper than that could flush. I was in the hospital for a month on oxygen. It destroyed my sinuses.

I never saw or even heard of a Fried Egg peony!! It’s really cool. So different from the usual ones.

How nice! Recently purchased a gazebo myself. Just waiting for my son to put it up for me along with the patio furniture. So relaxing working on my back yard. Happy summer🥰❣️

I understand that, Anne, I wear a CPAP mask every night. Once in a while like last night I have to stop putting water in the pass-over humidifier as it starts to make my sinus really wet. Yuck. A few nights of running the tank dry mostly stops that.

That would drive me crazy.

I hadn’t either. I like the other ones but I am not crazy about all the little bugs on them.

I completely understand, Anne, I’ve been wearing a mask since 2011. It’s just something you must do so you deal with it…

I’ve often wondered about those gadgets when I’ve seen them advertised on TV. I’m very happy that 1. you didn’t drown and 2. it’s working for you.

I hope that the weather is kind and you can spend many happy hours in your gazebo.

It is in a very sheltered area, so we can use it even if the weather is less than perfect.

Strange how they have the ants on the buds isn’t it. One of natures little quirks.

I thought they needed them to open the blossoms. Kind of a co-dependency thing. 🤷♀️

I never did learn what it was all about. I just assumed there was a sweet substance there that they liked. Now I feel a google coming on.

I just now looked this up, and when I read about it, I realized that I HAD looked it up before. I remember reading the answer.
The Role of Nectar
Peony buds secrete a sweet, sticky nectar on the outer green sepals that surround the developing flower. This nectar contains sugars, amino acids, and other nutrients that ants find irresistible, drawing them to the buds as a food source

Google is such a fountain of information! Between Google and You Tube we can know (& fix) anything.

Beautiful plants. The Fried Egg Peonie is a first for me. I had never heard of them. I am glad to hear the Navage is helping with your sinus and allergy issues. You and Dan enjoy your time in the gazebo and caring for all those beautiful plants that are going to be at your place.
