June 9th

Dan and I spent much of the afternoon outside yesterday.

– We finished getting the gazebo ready for summer.  Dan got all of the chair cushions out of storage and I secured them in place.

– I swept up a zillion or so of those little tree seed pods.  I swear, if we locked up this place and left for the season, we would return to a forest.  Every one that lands, on anything resembling dirt,  takes root. 🌳

– I started potting a dozen little flower plants to fill the planter that Dan is building for the back yard.

And I got to see see my first Fried Egg Peonie blossom.  It isn’t what I expected, but it is bright, perky, and unique.

While I am out and about as much as I can be, I am still focused on getting back to my Health and Fitness Journey.

One of my new healthy habits has been using my new Navage nasal irrigation unit, that Dan bought me a couple of weeks ago.

This unit is awesome! I have been dealing with sinus issues (and enviornmental allergies) for fourteen years! I have seen ENT’s, used a neti pot with saline solution, used prescription strength sinus sprays, and consumed boxes of antihistamines  – nothing was particularly helpful.

But this is a game changer!  The first week was rough.  I don’t know if it was because my sinuses were such a mess or if it was just a learning curve, but it was rough.  I seriously thought I might drown myself a couple of times. 🤦‍♀️

But, it was well worth the perseverance.  My sinuses are much better and  my allergies are all but gone –   and all without side effects of any sort.

That’s it for today! Take care and have a great day!

Grandpa’s Girl

Grandpa’s girl Genie has gone off to join the circus this summer. (She is actually working Guest Services for North American Midway Entertainment, but joining a circus sounds so much better. 😂😂😂)

So far she has been doing her usual best of working hard, taking pride in her work, enjoying her job, and saving the bulk of her paycheques for another year of college courses. She texts every Sunday morning and so far her only downside has been home sickness (being a total home body 😯) and at times being overly busy with guests, guest, guests! (Did I mention she was working Guest Services? 😂)

I asked Genie to send me a few photos from her travels that I could share here. I’m not sure if it is because this is the Calgary Stampede or if it is just her typical love of animals, but she does seem to have a theme going here.

Probably the view from their bunking quarters.
Probably the view of a truck she liked. 😂
Almost a horse…
The real deal!
A cow?
Has to be a bull… Or a cow with horns? 🙄
Piglets 💞
More piglets.. 💞

Genie will be off to Edmonton in a few days. I’m anxious to see what her focus will be there. Their annual exhibition is called Klondike Days so we might see some gold.👍

Following Edmonton it will be Buffalo Days in Regina! I’m not sure how many buffaloes we will see but there will definitely be updated photos of Molly and her favourite human.

Molly was SO little. If we do this shot again, she will have her paws on the top of Genie’s head. 😳

That’s it for today. We finally had a good solid rain last night – with thunder and lightening. The risk of more of the same has finally passed so it is time for Molly and I to venture out.

Take care and have a great day!

February 4th – Summer in Saskatchewan

Back in November of 2019, I was looking forward to the return of summer. Moving into February of 2022, I am beyond excited as I anticipate the coming spring and summer. 🌞

The only way to update this 2019 post, is to add a few ‘Summer in Saskatchewan’ photos from 2020 and 2021. For anyone living north of warmer weather, I hope this is a little something to brighten your day and warm your heart. 🌹

The beauty of a Saskatchewan summer! It cannot get here soon enough, even if it is well worth the wait.

That is it for today. Take care and have a great day! 💞
