It is another wet chilly day in our corner of Saskatchewan.
I have not been doing much of anything outside my normal routine today, but I did walk to our local strip mall to drop off a form at the medical office I visited last week.
Fortunately the tendon pain, which was obviously caused by the antibiotic I was taking, seems to be easing off quite nicely. That is definitely a relief.
Which leads me to a couple of health related questions that I have been pondering over the past few months.
Number 1: Why is there such an epidemic of ‘chronic illnesses’ these days? I know there has always been the likes of diabetes and asthma, but bronchiectasis? Where did that come from? And why does that make one vulnerable to infections like pseudomonas aeruginosa which can also become a chronic health issue? 🤦♀️
Number 2: Why do medications for ‘chronic illnesses’ come with side effects that inhibit mobility? That just seems counterproductive to me.
From my experience, keeping active is the best option for maintaining one’s health especially if one has chronic health issues.
If it was up to me, the scientists who develop such medications would be sent back to the drawing board to get the kinks out of their product.
Better yet, let’s start developing medications, procedures, and therapies that will lead to an epidemic of chronic wellness!
That’s it for today! Take care and have a great day!

I watched a video this morning that talked about the diet of Americans in the early 1970s compared to 2026. the amount of calories and general rubbish in food today has helped create an overweight and sickly population. Is this by someone’s dark design?

I don’t think so. Just like so many things, it didn’t turn out to be the progress that it was meant to be. We are living one big experiment in my mind.

Ah, well said, Anne. Some say we are living in a Matrix like the movie.

That picture was from before Christmas – but my ass and I are still comparable size wise.

8583 steps for me today. (I mowed a lot of lawn) I’m pleasantly tired.

Way to go, Vero! I used to have a lot of lawn to mow (when my Dad didn’t get to it first 😂). Now we don’t have too much and Dan does it most of the time. (I do it once a year 🙂).

My son in law does most of our mowing, but parts of it is hilly and can’t be mowed when the ground is wet because of sliding. This week he had some family emergencies and hasn’t gotten any of it mowed so far. I really like to mow so I am just helping out. It’s good exercise.

Yes it is. I prefer shoveling snow just because I am allergic to grass.
