Four and a half years ago I got pro-active in dealing with my chronic respiratory and general health issues. Four and a half years later, my health issues are still with me…
So far this year, my health has been particularly frustrating due to an ongoing battle with Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and the Ciprofloxacin ‘treatment’ which I was prescribed. While the treatment did not eradicate the Pseudomonas, it did leave ongoing side effects. 👍
However, despite these issues, this has been a fairly busy, productive, and healthy summer for me. (Go figure?)
I have continued existing, and adopted new, lifestyle habits that have proven to be beneficial.
1) Collagen supplements continued to be part of my daily health regime. On top of everything that they have been doing for me in general over the past year, I truly believe that they helped to mitigate the tendon damage from the Ciprofloxacin significantly.

2) I have read a number of self-help books that have helped me to sustain a positive mindset. John E. Sarno has become one of my all time favourite authors. I find it mind-boggling that more physicians do not take the mind/body connection more seriously. Having dealt with stress and anxiety for my entire life, it is obvious that our minds trigger physical symptoms and conditions – and that our minds have the power to mitigate them

3) The Navage sinus clearing system that Dan bought me a few months ago has become a part of my morning routine that I couldn’t imagine giving up at this point. Not only does it do an amazing job of clearing my sinuses, but my environmental allergies are virtually non-existent at this point. Not only is it far more effective than antihistamines – it causes zero side effects. Also… The little storage rack that I got for it was well worth the small price that I paid for it. 🙂

4) Regular exercise has been a part of my daily routine – as much as has been possible. There were a few weeks when my treadmill sat idle because tendon issues caused by the Ciprofloxacin made it too painful and potentially dangerous. Fortunately, those issues are resolved so that I can once again enjoy my treadmill time and the benefits it provides. I am also doing my You Tube aerobic workouts with the recent addition of light weights.

5) With the amazing weather we have been experiencing this summer, I have spent a lot of time working outdoors tending to trees, flower beds, and garden. Between bending, lifting, squatting and the like, I have experienced considerable natural postural lung drainage – which is a good thing.

6) And finally… My daughter introduced me to Blume probiotics. Since I quit eating yeast, my digestive system was working just fine! After 42 days of 1500 mg of Ciprofloxacin per day, that was no longer the case. Daughter Jen, who has suffered from IBS for her entire life, had been using Blume and suggested it might help get my digestive system back in working order. I have been using one package a day for the past fourteen days and the results have been incredible. The side effects? Zero!

That’s it for today. I hope everyone has been enjoying a good summer. Take care and have a great day! 💞🌞
