April 2nd – Days 84ย to 90ย  of My 2026 Daily Activity

We are through the first quarter of 2026 and some of us (one of us ๐Ÿ˜†) is still straddling the READY, SET,…. line.

Iย  am working on it.ย  Despite the rough days, and the mediocre days, I am experiencing a few stronger more productive days.

I have been doing my aerobics in the morning.ย  My afternoon workouts have been more of a struggle but I have been making an effort on the treadmill and yesterday I crushed a light weight workout! ๐Ÿ˜

I have been doing deep breathing exercises every day.   Inhale 4, hold 16, exhale 8.

I have been reading for an hour a day.  That is doing wonders for my  mindset.

AND… I have been working on my diet.  Generally speaking, my diet hasn’t been an issue but making  ‘healthy’ choices  for breakfast and snacks has been challenging. 

A couple of days ago, I went on a muffin baking extravaganza…

Coconut/almond, chocolate/peanut butter chips, and oatmeal/raspberry.

Making a full dozen of one type of muffin is problematic for Dan and I, so I made a variety pack to share with Jen & family and Genie & Alec.ย ย  ๐Ÿ’—

Last night was Dart Night for Dan.  I prepared for my regular Wednesday Night snack attack by making a large batch of popcorn for myself and a small batch of dog friendly, unbuttered and unsalted for Molly.

I have also been serving more vegetables – specifically raw vegetables with our meals lately.ย  Recently, I read (Unlimited PowerPoint by Tony Robbins) that it is healthier to keep hydrated by eating fruits and vegetables than by drinking an abundance of water.ย ย  That makes sense, as fruits and vegetables add nutrients to the body, while water flushes them out.ย  Hitting a point where 70% of my diet is fruits and vegetables may never happen, I am going in the right direction.

But, I am still drinking – one glass of water first thing in the morning, one cup of coffee, one cup of broth, one cup of tea, 12 Oz of carbonated water for supper, and regular water in the evening.ย 

Our weather is gradually improving so I am looking at spending more time outdoors, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine in the coming days. ๐ŸŒž

Daily Food Diary – Day 365 Of 365

Today is DAY 365 of my Daily Food Diary!ย  One FULL year of mindful eating, mindful living, and daily progress in my Health and Wellness Journey. ๐Ÿคฉ

Today is New Year’s Day. ๐ŸŽŠ Inย  lieu of posting my Daily WINS, I decided to share memorable moments from 2025.

January 1st, 2025 – Committing to maintaining and posting My Daily Food Diary
February – Embracing the Good Life
March – Signs of an early spring that didn’t happen….
April – Our bedding plants are ready to grace our flower beds.
May – Cooking from scratch – no yeast, no additives!
June – A trip north to spend a week with son Dan & Family 
July – Celebrating  Alec & Genie  becoming husband & wife
August – A short trip to Gravelbourg to visit Mom and Dad – gone but not forgotten.
September – Helping daughter Jen strip down her Jeep and enjoying the Health and Fitness that allowed me to do so!
October – putting miles on our treadmill.
November – Grateful for all of the benefits of collagen supplements.ย  Strong nails were not my goal, but they were a notable and welcome sign that the collagen was working for me.
December – Celebrating Christmas hosted by the newly weds,ย  following my hernia surgery and a short but delightful visit from son Dan and family.

Yesterday, I was back in holiday mode so I took another pass on counting every calorie – but I did remain mindful of what I ate.ย  Breakfast was crumpets with butter and jam.ย  Tea and Christmas Cake were my afternoon snack.ย ย  For supper I enjoyed Arby’s roast beef with fries and gravy. And.. I rang in midnight with a couple of chocolates and a large glass ofย  water. ๐Ÿฅ›

2025 is a wrap.ย  While I will no longer be posting my Daily Food Diary, I will be staying mindful of what I eat – and I will keep working to improve my diet going forward.

And, I will be back with my 2026 Daily Activity Journal!
