There is only so much one can say about Saskatchewan in January. It is cold and we have snow. Yesterday I made my first snow clearing effort of the year and today we are getting more snow. Whatever, I need the fresh air and exercise.

I do have to say that other than the cold, flu, Omicron experience that I had last week – and the lingering hacking cough that I have, I am feeling good. Really GOOD! When I had my hernia repair last month, the surgeon told me that my heartburn, bloating, etc. was not caused by my hernia and he prescribed some pills for what ailed me. It seemed odd at the time, that he would know how to fix an undiagnosed issue, but I trusted him and took the pills (that are meant to neutralize stomach acid). These pills are amazing! Zero side effects (which itself is amazing). And I feel good – no heartburn, bloating, nausea, cramping, hiccups, diaharrea – nothing! It is just a miracle! Thank you, Dr. P! 🤗
Supper was a relatively simple affair last night – chicken, rice pilaf, broccoli and cauliflower, with a leftover biscuit. The only thing I did, out of the ordinary, was that I used Mrs. Dash seasoning and a bit of black pepper on the chicken. The rice seemed over salty, so I decided we could do without it on the chicken. All in all, it was a passable meal.

That is it for today. I have to make Kat a new batch of food and get out to deal with some of this white stuff. Take care and have a great day! 💞
The dinner looks so good, Ann Marie! I hope you get a break from the snow. 🥶

Here they are blaming Saskatchewan for the frigid weather hitting the southern U.S. It is if they think Saskatchewan has it out for us. Too funny.

I notice a big storm front swooping up from the States into Manitoba yesterday. Must be the U.S. trying to get even. 😂

So glad to hear that you are feeling so well and the pills are working for you. Your meal looks delicious. Broccoli and cauliflower are the two vegetables that I eat most often. That is way too much snow for me. Kudos to you for getting out in it to clear some and get exercise.

Thank you, Frony. We have a weird affection for shoveling snow in our family. I blame my Dad! He couldn’t wait to get out to shovel. 🤗

Anne with all the snow you get it is a good thing you like shoveling.

Thank you! It should be fairly light snow today and it isn’t too bitterly cold. It should be good.

Dan does most of it. If it is super cold out (under 20 below celcius) I cannot do it. And until the past few days, it has been frigid.

That looks like a lot of snow. We had a huge snowfall on Monday and it was quite the workout to shovel our driveway and sidewalk. The worst was when the snowplow came by. You dinner looks delicious and a good way to refuel after clearing all that snow.

I just went out to clear a path for Kat on our patio. It was above 0 temps since early this morning so the snow really packed down. Weighs a ton! Omg I did one little path and I think I dislocated an arm – and possibly a lung. Gotta love snowplows – it is the same here.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that you injured yourself while shovelling. My back definitely felt sore for a few days after clearing all our snow.

I didn’t clear much but there is room for Kat to go do her business.

A white winter is so much more preferable than a brown one. Plus as you said it’s outside and fresh air and exercise so all good things!

Kat and I went out for some more of that exercise today. Every time we go out the snow gets heavier and packed more solid and I have to throw it higher and further. I should look like Popeye by the time spring makes a solid arrival.
