Summer has finally arrived in Saskatchewan. The heat is not extreme, but it is dry, warm, and SUNNY!
We are making the most out of every day that we can spend outdoors. Dan is clearing out the shed/playhouse so that he can demolish and replace it.
I have been puttering around the yard – cleaning up around the pond, fertilizing the cedars, picking weeds, transplanting vines, trimming plants, and deep cleaning our barbecue. There is always something to do and, since much of it is involves bending over, it has been (unintentionally) very good for clearing my lungs. My blood oxygen is the best it has been since last fall. ๐
Meanwhile our plants have finally begun to show signs of life!
And Molly continues to stay cool and comfortable in her space between the Blue Spruce and the Cedars.
That’s it for today.ย Take care and have a great day!
I am back – and with a fair amount of activity to report on!
Today is Day 14 of my current round of antibiotics! Two weeks down and only one to go. While I don’t really know if it is dealing effectively with my lung infection, I do know that I HAVE NOT been experiencing any side effects to speak of. ๐ค
My absence from Word Press began with a bit of a baking spree.ย I made Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies, Coconut Oatmeal Cookies, AND for the first (and last!) time – Thumbprint Cookies.ย
My baking mission was due to our impending trip north to stay with son Dan and his boys, while his wife Amanda was away on business.
We ended up heading north a day early to avoid a bit of weather that was expected.ย
I would say the drive there was still a bit challenging at times, but to be honest I stayed in the passenger seat while Dan did all of the driving – there and back.ย ย Fortunately, the roads were dry and clear yesterday for the return trip.
While we were at son Dan’s, I managed to keep busy enough.ย I made countless trips up and down their stairs. ๐ I helped with the cooking and cleaning – neither which was particulary challenging.ย ๐ I read books to Cason and reviewed his โค๏ธ words.ย ๐ I played numerous board games, which I invariably lost. ๐ AND.. I fed the dogs and played referee as needed. (To the dogs, not the boys!) ๐
I did have enough time to go on a short shopping spree, take one spin on theirย treadmill, and I finished reading “The Magic of Believing” and the first couple of chapters of “Unlimited Power”.
It was nice to get away, great spending time with Dan and the boys, but as always.. it is good to be home and back to our routine.ย ย It felt really good to do my aerobics this morning!
That’s it for today! Take care and have a great day!
Yesterday after we got back from brunch and gift giving at Genie and Alec’s, we settled in for a peaceful afternoon with Molly.
My afternoon snack consisted of one Gin and Tonic and three delectable chocolates.ย Our supper was leftover Chinese Food from Dan & Amanda’s visit followed by a cup of hot tea.ย Again, for the second day in a row – no calories were counted.ย
Today is Boxing Day in Canada. Traditionally, people would rush out today to take advantage of post Christmas sales. (A tradition that I consistently avoided).
I prefer the rest, relax, and recover tradition.
Enjoying memories of Maddy’s very first Annual Boxing Day Sleepover… this year she will be at work hosting little ones on their way home from Boxing Day sleepovers. ๐And, indulging in my annual Christmas Jigsaw puzzle event.
I will also be getting into Recovery Mode by doing my aerobics this morning and heading outdoors for some fresh air this afternoon.
It is time to start rebuilding so that I am ready to head into the new year with the strength and stamina to work on reaching my AMAZING, FABULOUS, GINORMOUS 2026 HEALTH AND FITNESS GOAL!
