Nothing says December like the current lineup of television programming available. We have two choices people – sports or Christmas movies. Since I am all in to celebrate the season this year – Chrismas movies it is!
I have watched three Christmas movies in the past two days and none of them were my traditional favourites – ‘National Lampoon Christmas Vacation”, Bruce Willis in ‘Die Hard’ (or any sequel thereof), ‘A Garfield Christmas’, ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ or the classic horror flick ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’. None of them were the traditional family favourites, such as ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’, ‘A Christmas Carol’, ‘A Christmas Story’, ‘Miracle on 13th Street’ or Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’.
Nope! This year I have jumped right in to the heartstring pulling, tear jerking, Chrismas movie specials that lead one to believe that Christmas miracles happen, that joy and wonder exists, and that this truly is the season of love, light, kindness and ‘goodwill towards all’.

Christmas a la carte.

Christmas at Holly Lodge

If the lineup of likewise holiday movies holds, I will soon have to make a run to the store to restock our supply of microwave popcorn, wine, and Kleenex. Tis the season. 😥
That’s it for today, folks. Take care and have a great day!🎄
I haven’t gotten in the mood for Christmas movies yet. Some of the ones you mentioned I watch most every year. I have not heard of until now the last three you mentioned.

I don’t get into the mood for Christmas movies. This year I decided to push myself into it.

It seems I may have to do the same thing if I watch any,

It is definitely hard to get into the spirit some years. Most years it is hard to maintain it. Somehow I am driven to do it one year. 😂

I watch It’s a Wonderful Life once a year and maybe Christmas Vacation, but that’s about it. Needless to say, I’m getting lots of writing done!

That is good! I am sure you are getting a lot of cooking and baking done this month as well.

Elf is our go-to. Wish they’d make a sequel lol

I thought of Elf. Also a good one! A sequel is overdue.

Do you have cable or satellite TV, Annmarie? You need more choices! Howdy, I’m back home in the desert! 😂

Glad you made it back safe, sound and soon to be defrosted. We have Shaw satellite. 120 or so channels – a majority of which seem to sports or cartoons. When Dom is here he is totally frustrated that I cannot ‘pause’ his shows for him. We are old school. 😂

I watched several movies last year, but this year I just can’t seem to want to.

I have definitely had those years. I hope you get some peace and joy to the season. 💞

Three of my children have come to visit in the last couple of weeks for the first time in two years, the season has certainly started off great for me.

Thank you, yes they did but what wonderful times we had when they were all young.

Yes I loved those years when they were growing up. There were many good times to be had with my kids.

That’s a pretty good number of channels. I say no thanks to the sports channels except for hockey. And no thanks, Spongebob Square Pants! 😂

Spongebob is one of the few cartoons that I can still follow. Most of them are so hi-tech, robotic science nerd type 🤦. Dom has to explain them to me as we go.

They filmed a couple of Christmas movies near us this year. In fact my daughter was an extra in one. I will have to find out which one and let you know.

I am such a captive audience for whatever someone else in the household is watching. At least I do not have the stress of making decisions!

It is called “Sugar Plum Twist” and apparently she is only in a scene with carolers serenading the leads.

Will have to check it out! Thank you, Elizabeth.
