Year Two – Week Twelve

My new normal seems to be running a few days late with my health and fitness update.  🙄

This week our most entertaining workout was giving Miss Molly a bath down at PetValu.  They have a sweet setup and Molly loved it.    She didn’t even bark at the little dog in the next tub!   * It is only $12 per wash and more than worth it.  Molly was secure the entire time, we could easily reach her at all times,  they provide nice, big, absorbent towels to use,  a variety of shampoos, handheld shower, drier, and treats. 💞 And the entire setup is designed to be easily cleaned – unlike our bathroom and house if we had tried this at home.  😊

Last week, and so far this week, my workouts have been regular and going well. I have been getting my rhythm back with the Zumba workouts. My evening weights and strength training has been going well with the five pound weights.

I attempted Pushups and Burpees last Saturday. I have never in my life been capable of doing either and I am not there yet. But I did find an excellent video on YouTube for Pushups so I am working on them and when I nail that, I will revisit the Burpees.

It never fails to amaze me what you can learn on You Tube.

Anyway – it is supposed to start raining any time so I should hustle outside to see if there is anything I can get done before it starts. We have been spending a lot of time outside this week working on the yard and garden, but we have a long way to go.

Take care and have a great day! 💞🌞⛈️

  2. My dogs loved those kinds of baths. In CA we all went to one on our way home from Dog Beach. Bear has never had a bath and I can’t imagine her having one at this point. You are a really lucky dog, Molly!

  3. My Molly did. She was a Malamute/Aussie mix and he would head into the water after seagulls — a little scary for me, but she’d just ride a wave back in. BUT all that fur? Lots of sand 🤣

  4. Thanks for the video on push-ups! I often do the slanted version at the kitchen counter while waiting on the toaster or water to boil, but this was really helpful. My bro just built a dog washing station in their laundry room and it is really pretty. They have four long-haired dacshunds so it is really helpful. Molly does look lovely after her bath and blow-out.

  5. I have been doing the wall one but had no idea of proper technique. I would love to have a dog bath but those ones at Pet Valu are pretty sweet for those of us who can’t have our own.

  6. Oh, I definitely agree with you about the value, and especially with a big dog! He just spoils his wife (who bathes the dogs) and since he was a contractor/carpenter when he worked with Dad, he built it himself.

  7. I loved the pictures of Molly at the public bath (I know it is public in the normal sense but you know what I mean). I often wondered how those worked. Keep up the good work in your training!

  8. That is the coolest thing to have dog baths at the pet store. I’ll have to check and see if they have that around here. Never looked so I don’t know! Haha! Molly is adorable, what a good girl! ❤️

And thank you for sharing the push ups video. I may try and get going on them by starting on the wall and work my way down the levels. What a great idea, and I never knew about the proper way to do a push up! YouTube is AMAZING! 🤩❤️

  9. Thank you, Diana! Someone came and opened our gate last night so our adorable Molly went for a run when I put her out this morning. Dan jumped in the Jeep and fortunately found her wandering around a few blocks from home. She was winded (must have had a good run) and happy to jump into the back of the Jeep. Whew!
I love You Tube. I found a few helpful How To videos on there – including some vehicle trouble shooting/fixes. Now it’s Dan’s go to whenever he needs to make an unfamiliar repair around here.
I had no idea that I didn’t know how to do a proper pushup. 🤦 I started with wall ones and have worked my way down to countertop.

  10. Oh my goodness! How scary but am glad Dan found her not to far from home. We had a dog that would run when the gate was left open. We always found him, but it sometimes took awhile. It’s funny as whenever we come across a problem that needs fixing or even how do you clean this contraption? We always say check YouTube and sure enough there’s always a video to help us out!! So COOL!!

  11. It’s pretty scary in the city – especially since we live a short block from a very busy thoroughfare – even at six in the morning. Fortunately, Molly is scared of traffic so she was just wandering on the sidewalk. (Although thankfully she didn’t meet up with someone, or someone with a dog! She gets overly excited and friendly.) You Tube has helped us out plenty. Dan even replaced the springs in our garage overhead door – and that is a pretty intense project. Have a good weekend, Diana!

  12. Until we got Zoe I never gave any dog a bath. I think it is because I grew up with dogs that basically were fed and let in and out of the house.(Mainly out!) And of course no one cleaned up after their dogs either. I love the idea of a dog bath place. Zoe is so little she fits in the kitchen sink!

  13. I don’t remember my Dad bathing our dogs but they were in the house, sleep on the bed, eat at the table dogs. 😂. And I am pretty sure Dad cleaned up after them! Molly would not fit in our kitchen sink and we would never get her up there – nor would we want to. 😳
