It’s been a hot minute but I am finally back to post a bit of an update..
Family wise we have had a bit going on..
Granddaughter Primrose finished her school year with her Grade 8 graduation..

She’s off to high-school with Maddy this fall..
Conveniently for both, Maddy became a full-fledgedย driver a few days ago!

It doesn’t seem possible!

This week we had a family barbecue to celebrate the girls’ achievements.ย ย Family, friends, and plenty of food to go around.ย
I have had a few chats recently with son Dan.ย On the fun side, he is building a pool off of their already massive deck.ย ย Their entire yard is built for enjoyingย quality family and friend time.ย This pool will be an excellent addition for them.
Unfortunately, Dan had sad news for us as well – one of their little dogs took sick this week and they had to say a very difficult farewell.

Health wise, I am doing ok.ย It is frustrating that I am still struggling to get back to where I was.ย I have little to no issues doing my aerobics and working around the house and yard.ย Walking, treadmill, and weights are an ongoing issue.ย Between respiratory issues aggravated by this infection and tendon damage caused by the medication, I can’t seem to get it together. ๐ซช

The most excitement we have had lately is due to the weather we have been experiencing this season.ย We fluctuate between ripping hot and frigid cold (typically on the same day).ย Our yard recovered from the intense hail storm we had a couple of weeks just in time for the torrential rain we experienced yesterday.

I’m not sure if anyone will be able to see this video.ย Our neighbourhoodย wasn’t hit this bad!ย ย But while Dan was at Superstore waiting for his chance to make a dash in for a few groceries, I did manage to soak the porch carpet and flood the basement.ย Both were preventable but no real harm done.ย The carpet will dry and the basement is unfinished cement – with anything of valueย up off the floor.ย ย Dan went down to open the floor drain and turn on the dehumidifier when he got home, so we are all good.ย ย
We are in the midst of aย thunder storm now but it seems to be bringing more noise than anything and Dan isย home, so no worries! ๐
That’s it for now! Take care and have a good day! ๐๐

I’m sorry about the dog, they are family too. ๐ Time flies too fast doesn’t it? Be very careful Maddy, people love you! The plant stand id a great idea, Dan is very creative, Anne! Hail storm, eh? Nasty thing, I hope your car wasn’t damaged. Send any excess rain down here, please! ๐๐ป๐ Have a safe and wonderful new week, Anne.

Thank you, John! The Jeep was okay. The Taurus took a bit of a hit . The two tail light covers and driver’s side mirror need to be replaced but Maddy is in the process of buying it from me so she will get Jen to help her get the parts from a wreckers and replace them. The plant stand was originally my idea – but Dan made it work! We would be happy to send you any more rain that we get. If we don’t get a dry spell to get the front lawn mowed soon, it will revert to jungle. Have a great week!

Ah, the time of year to harvest the lawn has returned! Hail causes so much damage to so many things, terrible. Thanks, no big plans this new week which is what I like.

Congratulations to both the girls on their accomplishments. So sorry about the little dog. The weather is causing havoc in so many places. The flooding on the video was bad. I am glad you all are okay.

Itโs a big reality check when our grandkids become young adults and beyond, Anne. Itโs good to see that youโre such a big part of their lives. Sorry about your sonโs dog. Those are truly hard times. A few weeks ago, our daughter and son-in-law had to have their St. Bernard put down because she was full of cancer and in lots of pain. Our son in law took it especially hard because that dog was his fave of the three they had. Iโm sorry to hear that you continue to struggle with the infection and the antibiotic side effects. Thatโs been a long haul. Hopefully thereโs a light at the end of that particular tunnel for you. I love your plant stand. You have quite the outdoor oasis happening there. Enjoy!

Extreme temps either way are difficult, but I think heat is the worst. ๐

Thank you, Terry! The yard is turning into a jungle with all the rain lately – especially our front lawn.. I hope things will improve. I switched from Advair & Spiriva to Trelegy lately. I cough less and easier but my blood oxygen doesn’t improve and I find it harder to breathe when walking. No idea if it is the Trelegy or the pseudomonas, but it is frustrating. I am sorry about your daughter and son in law’s dog. It is always such a difficult loss.

I do too. We can always put on more clothing to keep warm. In the heat taking off clothing doesn’t help. โค๏ธ

I remember how stressful it was when my children got their drivers’ licenses. Not there yet with the grandchildren.

I taught both of my sons to drive – at the same time! ๐ฌ I couldn’t do it now, but they are both strong drivers. ๐
