July 8th..

Summer has finally arrived in Saskatchewan.   The heat is not extreme, but it is dry, warm, and SUNNY!

We are making the most out of every day that we can spend outdoors.  Dan is clearing out the shed/playhouse so that he can demolish and replace it.

I have been puttering around the yard – cleaning up around the pond, fertilizing the cedars, picking weeds, transplanting vines, trimming plants, and deep cleaning our barbecue.  There is always something to do and,  since much of it is involves bending over,  it has been (unintentionally)  very good for clearing my  lungs.   My blood oxygen is the best it has been since last fall. 😁

Meanwhile our plants have finally begun to show signs of life!

And Molly continues to stay cool and comfortable in her space between the Blue Spruce and the Cedars.

That’s it for today.Β  Take care and have a great day!

  1. Your garden is beautiful and the flower that is half red, half pink is so interesting!

I hope the dry heat stays controlled and bearable for you all and does not result in any wildfires.

    Enjoy your summer! 😊

  2. I love the beautiful plants! I’m glad you’ve got nice weather now, Anne, finally! Time for a road trip, right? I’m on my iPad that doesn’t have an ad locker and saw four ads on your site. Bummer. Did you hit the 90s with your blood oxygen?

  3. Thank you, Ab! We dont generally get wildfires around here but we get the smoke from forest fires in northern Saskatchewan and Alberta. This year we have been lucky so far. I hope that means the fires up there are not bad like they have been.
