It has been seven weeks since I started my spring fitness program! The time is flying by and I am seeing some results.
- Physically –
- I have lost a whopping TWO pounds, but I continue to tone and tighten up π
- My balance is way better
- I feel much better
- My blood oxygen level is up and my pulse is slower and stronger
- I started walking this weekend. I am starting with a goal of 5000 steps per day but I plan to increase as I am ready. I have read lately that 7500 steps is optimal.
- Mentally –
- I am doing better at the little puzzle games that I play π
- And… I installed a router extender to our wifi AND set up our security camera this morning! πππ
Emotionally – This is where I have noticed the biggest difference lately. I honestly thought, that with spring’s arrival and my efforts to improve my health and well-being, that my life would really get better! I was wrong. In the past few days, we have had family DRAMA, we have been BLEEDING financially, and we lost our little dog, Kat. Our life is one old country blues tune. BUT… I am doing ok. Seriously ok. My family are still the loves of my life, our finances will turn (as they always do), and despite the absolute heartbreak of losing Kat – I am okay. I am not trying to contain or control the pain in my heart. I am just letting it go with the flow of tears and staying grateful for the years we had. π
On a side note, my little seedlings are starting to take. I add a few more each week and thin out the ones that are getting a bit too crowded. Our weather is improving, but it will be a while before I can start moving my little garden outside, even for a few hours a day.

That’s it for today. Take care and have a great day!π
PS… Thank you again for all of the kind and compassionate messages following our loss last week. We were very touched by each an every one. πππ
You go girl!!

Good to hear all this improving news! I have had you on my mind the last couple of days. I too have lost a whopping 2 pounds after renewing my fitness and eating, and I did the happy dance. Keep on keeping on–and love the photograph of the flowers in the heading! Violets? Pansies?

Whoo hoo! Two pound loss is better than a gain! π And it is all about feeling better and being healthier. I was thinking of you just yesterday. I haven’t been on WordPress much lately, but I have to get back on here and see how everyone is doing. The flowers are Pansies. I filled out ‘welcome’ sign basket with them a couple of years ago.

2 pounds is a good start, Anne. With all those steps you are taking those falling off pounds will increase. Good for you letting those tears flow you do whatever you need to. Your little plants look healthy and a pretty green. Sending you hugs sweet Anne.

Thank you, Mags. π My sister Elaine sent us the nicest card this morning so I should be treated out now. I hope I lose a few pounds but I am happy to be feeling better. π

Thank you, Carol Anne. It is heartbreaking to lose a pet – and I know it is heartbreaking for others to hear, but anything that is worth as much as a beloved pet comes at a price. Kat will always have a place in our hearts.
And thank you! I hope to be in better shape this summer than last. π

I have noticed a real improvement in my mood since I began to aim for 5000 steps a day back in December. It seems to be achievable, so I haven’t tried to increase to the ideal 7500. Congratulations on seeing the more important things than weight such as balance and heart rate improving.

I have never seen this much improvement in my emotional well being from working out. I think the music helps. π. I needed the balance.

Me neither. For me it has been being outside. For you it is the music. What matters is that our mood has improved.

I think that is why it is so hard to find what really works and sticks for an individual when it comes to workout programs. We are all ‘unique’.π

I’m happy to hear that you are doing okay and are focusing on the positives. I must say, I am impressed with all those little seedlings. I’m hoping to plant vegetables this year, something I’ve never done before.

Thank you, Linda. The best gardens I ever grew were the ones I had before I knew what I was doing. π€
