It is day fourteen of my June ‘Accentuate the Positive’ challenge. What could possibly be more positive than the mighty and majestic tree? Fun fact… All of the trees in these photos are in Regina, Saskatchewan – a city that was founded on a treeless grassland.

I never really understood how anyone could hug a tree. They generally seem rather hard, lumpy and scratchy for that kind of intimacy. I can however appreciate their unique beauty, the strength they draw from the earth, and the awe inspiring sight of their branches reaching up to the skies.
That is it for day fourteen! Only sixteen more days to go!
Thank you for dropping by. I hope to see you tomorrow!
The Blue Spruce is a beautiful tree. Regina had zero trees?

Thank you, John. Zero! We now have over 500,000 trees in our parks and lining our streets. Regina is one of nine Canadian ‘Tree Cities of the World’. And…Wascana Lake is man-made and situated in one of, if not the , largest urban parks in North America. 🌟

I would love to visit your city! I love Canada, have met many online and one couple in person here in Vegas a couple years ago.

It is nice but don’t expect the excitement of Vegas😂.

Honestly, I very rarely drive down to the Strip, too many nutters for me! The city is opened up again though since the vaccine came along which is wonderful. It was very odd to drive down Las Vegas Boulevard and see so few people and cars. I can’t be the only local who avoids the Strip…

I definitely would, but then I avoid any place with crowds.

I too feel a bit uncomfortable in large crowds, walking the Strip before Covid was a shoulder-tooshoulder experience at times. The city had around 40 million visitors each year pre-covid.

Beautiful. I am amazed that there were no trees.

Thank you, Suzanne! Our Wascana Lake was man-made too. Kind of makes you wonder why the founders thought this was a good spot for a town. The natives called it ‘Pile of Bones’ originally so, what was the attraction? 🤔

I love trees! That’s a really interesting fact. I didn’t know it was all grassland at one time. Cool!

Nice post which reminded me of my years in Kansas where trees were few and far between, unless in a river or creek bottom, or in a town/city.
