‘Scrapsing Out’

I have been rather MIA on WordPress for the last few weeks. This bothers me, because I do enjoy posting and reading everyone else’s news and views of the day. It is hard to explain, but I have gotten so caught up in my spring fitness plan, that I have rather lost (or found) myself in it. 🙄

When I met Dan, I had a little Terrier named Scraps. She had this wierd habit of becoming totally mesmerized at random moments. She would be walking across the room and suddenly go off into her own little world. We referred to these episodes as ‘Scrapsing Out’.

Mark and Scraps

Anyway… For the past few weeks I have been ‘Scrapsing Out’. It started innocently enough when I realized my fitness level was not going to cut it when spring (and spring yard cleanup) arrived. I started dancersizing for half an hour a day. The results were almost impressive. I am looking and feeling much better. I even have muscle tone in my arms!

I noticed that I was feeling mentally sharper and emotionally grounded – so I started engaging in more mental exercise and meditating on a regular basis.

When our snow and ice melted (currently it has temporarily returned), I started walking everyday. I also got focussed on spending more time preparing healthier meals.

Every day, I am feeling better, am more energetic, and am more active. But, I have kind of lost that time that I used to spend blogging. Since, that was quality time for me I am definitely trying to get back to fitting it into my new lifestyle. It may take a while but I am working on it.

But… I am also really enjoying feeling more fit everyday! And I am totally impressed that I have kicked up my dancersizing routines. This is one of the You Tube ones I use now. Obviously, I do not look like these girls but I am doing a pretty amazing job of keeping up with them. 😊

That is it for today. I will post again soon and I will absolutely get around to catching up on all of your news asap.

Take care and have a great day! 💞

  1. Boy Anne Marie, I had been wondering what happened to you. Even checked to make sure I was still following your blog. But it’s all good. I’m so proud of you! We are having snow today-ugh so I haven’t walked for a couple days but my eating habits are good and I’m still losing. Got another 6 or 8 pounds to go and feeling much better physically. Keep it up woman! We all need downtime now and again for scrapsing…

  2. Thank you, Neese. I am still not losing weight but I am for sure gaining muscle so for me that is a huge win. Good for you working on your diet and exercise. I am glad you are feeling better as well! (Scrapsing is definitely something we all need from time to time. 😂).

  3. Hi Anne Marie, it sounds like you’ve been really making progress on your exercises! Go you! Once school gets out, I want to try to get back on a yoga routine and try to get us eating better. You’re inspiring me! Glad to hear from you!

  4. Thank you for stopping by. I hope your yoga helps you to feel better. It is so hard for us to give ourselves the care we need when we are working – especially when we have health issues that make it all the more difficult and necessary to do so. Have a great week! 💞

  5. You are so right. I feel like I never have the energy to work in yoga during the week and on weekends, I’m trying to recover from the week and catch up on what I haven’t been able to do during the work week. I’m so glad to hear that it’s going well for you and you are feeling better because of it! xo

  6. That’s great that you are feeling more fit now. I find it hard to balance everything I want to do in a day, and soon the little garden will be screaming for attention. I may shut my ears, because I’d much rather wander around WordPress.

  7. Lol. It isn’t as bad as it looks and it feels really good when I am done. 😊. I do struggle with the breathing thing but then I always struggle to breathe. I think that is gradually improving as well.

  8. Thank you, Anne. We have so much yard work to do this spring (if it ever quits snowing). Hopefully what I have to do will go quicker this year since I am in better shape than I was last year – then I will have time to WordPress. 😊

  9. How wonderful and no need to apologize!! You go girl! You had me giggling at the scrapsing!! Haha! I get that and do that too! 🤩

I was watching your dancersize you provided and I thought to myself, okay, I do that movement when I brush my horses, the waist movements when I’m riding my young horse Murphy! Other movements when I rake my stall, why the stables is one heck of a gym! 🤣 My arm muscles are getting bigger and stronger in the year I’ve had Murph cuz he’s big, young & strong and I need to be stronger and smart. I’m not stronger than he is but he has to know I’m the leader of the two of us when we work together. I’m so amazed how my stamina and strength has grown since owning him. My lazy trail rides on my other horse doesn’t get very aerobic!! Much like walking with a slow dog, it’s good when you can push yourself!! Sorry to go on so, but I have your exact same thoughts. I am trying to juggle all the things I love to do including WordPress, sometimes it’s hard to fit everything in and then add reading everyone I can and comment/respond etc!! Right there with you girlfriend! 💞

  10. Thank you, Diana. It doesn’t matter what you do, when you find your groove, it comes naturally. I am always dancing nowadays – making supper, doing dishes, dusting, just standing around – something is moving. 😂

  11. Life is a hotchpotch of doing and not doing, I have found. The best idea is not to rebel, but to accept whatever is the status quo. Perhaps Scratching Out is good for us! Variety is, after all, the spice of life! 🙂

  12. Good for you, Anne, you are getting yourself where you want to be and that is a good thing. For sure I will be here when you do post and I feel sure your other blogging friends will be also. Spring is a busy time for a lot of us so we understand that you may not have much time for your blog. Thank you, for sharing your great progress.

  13. It is so important that you are addressing the needs of yourself, both physical and emotional. I think that sometime we impose our own ideas of how often we need to post and forget that there are no set rules.
